Former INEC chairman Jega, alleged Minister of Labour and Employment on turning the ongoing of ASUU strike into his personal fight

A former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, has alleged that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has turned the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, into a personal fight.

Attahiru Jega, a onetime president of ASUU, made the allegations while reacting to the registration of a rival group and a court case filed against the ASUU by the federal government.

According to him, Dr. Chris Ngige is fighting Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu on one hand and ASUU on the other hand.

The former vice-chancellor of Bayero University Kano added that such action by the labour minister would further polarize the issues rather than solve them.
