Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle, has said he was weary of being governor of the state due to the incessant killings and kidnappings by terrorists.

Bello Matawalle stated this yesterday during an interview with DW Hausa, while reacting to his defeat at the polls.

Sawaba Radio reported that Bello Matawalle, who sought reelection under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, lost to the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Dauda Lawal.

But while reacting to his defeat, Bello Matawalle said he felt fulfilled to have served the state for four years.

Bello Matawalle, who claimed that the military had deployed over 300 trucks to the state, said he got heads up on the plot to deal with him and some other governors who challenged the naira redesign policy of the federal government.

He also said challenging the outcome of the results is the discretion of the party not his.
