Nigerian house of assembly confirmed the nomination of 19 Resident Electoral Commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission

The Senate yesterday confirmed the nomination of 19 Resident Electoral Commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

A statement by Mohammed Isa, a media aide to the president of the Senate Ahmad Lawan, said the Senate also confirmed the nomination of Muhammad Sabo Lamido as Executive Commissioner, Finance and Accounts for the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency.

The confirmations were made sequel to the consideration of the reports of its Committees on Electoral Matters, and that of Upstream Petroleum Sector respectively. The Resident Electoral Commissioners confirmed include Ibrahim Abdullahi, from Adamawa state; Umar Ibrahim from Taraba state; Muhammed Bashir from Sokoto state; Zango Abdu from Katsina state, Yahaya Ibrahim Makarfi from Kaduna state; Nura Ali from Kano state; Hudu Yunusa from Bauchi state; Mohammad Nura from Yobe state; Ahmed Yushau Garki from Federal Capital Territory, among others.
